AI SEO tools: the stack we use and the tools we built

The analytics behind our AI SEO, GEO and AI search visibility work: what each tool measures, how it’s priced, which team size it fits and what it can’t do. Plus the public tools we built and share with the community.

The short answerNo single tool measures AI search on its own. We pair first-party data (Google Search Console, GA4 and PostHog) with sampled AI-answer trackers (Scrunch, Searchable and GeoToolbox), research tools (QueryBurst and Ahrefs) and tools we built ourselves. Then people decide what to publish. The trackers show where you appear. Your own data shows what that’s worth.

Methodology

How we judge an AI search tool

Every tool on this page earns its place by answering one question well. Before we trust a number, we check five things.

  1. Where does the data come from?First-party data (your Search Console, your analytics) shows what actually happened. AI-answer trackers run a sample of prompts and report what the models said at that moment.
  2. How is it sampled?Trackers only see the prompts you give them, on the engines and at the frequency your plan allows. We choose prompts from real buyer language, not guesses.
  3. Can it connect to revenue?Visibility without visits and pipeline is a vanity metric. Every tracker number gets checked against GA4, PostHog and CRM data.
  4. How does the price scale? Most AI visibility tools charge by prompts, credits or messages. The cost depends on how many prompts and engines you track, not on how big your company is.
  5. What can’t it do?Each tool has blind spots. We list them below so you can plan around them.

The stack, compared

Entry prices are the lowest public paid tiers on each vendor’s pricing page as of October 2026. Vendors change pricing often, so check the linked page before you buy.

Tool Its job in AI search Pricing model Best fit What it can’t do
Google Search Console First-party Google impressions, clicks and queries. It’s where AI Mode and AI Overview prompt fragments show up, and the raw input for our AI query classifier. Free Every team Hides rare queries, which is where most conversational prompts sit. Covers Google only, not ChatGPT or Perplexity.
Google Analytics 4 Sessions and conversions, including visits referred by AI assistants. Free (Analytics 360 is quote-based) Every team Only sees clicks that arrive. An AI answer that nobody clicks never shows up.
PostHog Funnels and behavior for AI-referred visitors, so we can tell whether AI traffic converts. Usage-based, with a free monthly event allowance (pricing) Solo to enterprise Measures your own site only, not what AI engines say about you.
Scrunch Brand presence, position, sentiment and citations across AI answers. It’s our baseline and gap-finding tracker (case study). Subscription by prompts and seats, from $250/mo billed annually (pricing) SMB to enterprise Tracks a fixed prompt set on a refresh schedule. It’s a recurring sample, not a live feed.
Searchable Visibility, citations, sources and competitor benchmarks across eight AI engines, plus content and page audits. Monthly subscription, from $125/mo for 100 tracked prompts (pricing) Solo to mid-market Tracked prompts are capped by plan and chosen by hand.
GeoToolbox Labels each prompt result as cited, mentioned without a link (a “near-citation”) or left out. Good for spotting easy wins. Credit-pool subscription, from $99/mo (pricing) Solo to agency Entry plans scan weekly on fewer engines, and credits are spent on every scan.
QueryBurst Models multi-turn buyer journeys through AI search and maps a whole site’s topical coverage. Usage-based by monthly messages, from $49/mo (pricing) Solo to mid-market It says it is not a prompt tracker, so it doesn’t trend your visibility over time.
Ahrefs + Brand Radar Backlink and authority data, keyword demand, and brand mentions in AI Overviews and assistants. Subscription by plan and seats, from $129/mo. Brand Radar is priced separately (pricing) Solo to enterprise AI mention checks are capped per plan, and some engines use more checks than others.

Pricing and capabilities come from each vendor’s public pages, reviewed October 2026. These are tools we use in client work.

Fit by team size

Which stack fits your team

Solo or small team

Start with what’s free

Search Console, GA4 and one entry-level tracker running 25 to 50 buyer prompts. Use our public classifier to find the conversations you’re already showing up for.

Mid-market

Add a second view

Two trackers so no single sample decides your strategy, plus PostHog or CRM attribution so visibility connects to pipeline.

Enterprise / multi-brand

Standardize the measurement

Enterprise tracker plans with more seats and prompts, a backlink and authority suite, and one shared method across brands so results are comparable.

Worked example

From gap analysis to shipped work

Tools only matter if their findings turn into pages, fixes and mentions. Here’s the handoff from research to implementation that we run on every AI SEO engagement.

  1. Find the gapsTrackers show which buyer prompts name competitors instead of you. Search Console and the query classifier show which AI conversations already reach your site.
  2. Rank them by moneyEach gap is scored by deal value, buyer intent and how fast we can close it, not by search volume.
  3. Brief and buildThe top gaps become briefs for answer-first pages, schema, comparisons and FAQs. Subject experts review every page before it goes live.
  4. Earn the corroborationAI engines trust what other sites confirm. We go after the publications, directories and communities the engines already cite in your category.
  5. Measure and repeatRe-run the same prompts, check citations against visits and pipeline, and feed what we learn into the next cycle.

We ran this loop on ourselves. In October 2026, our AI SEO agent flagged a conversational query, “analytical tools do you use for link building”, with 866 impressions in Search Console. Buyers were asking an assistant which tools an agency actually uses, and we had no page that answered it. This page is the result.

FAQs

Straight answers

What analytical tools do you use for AI SEO and GEO?

We combine first-party data from Google Search Console, GA4 and PostHog with AI-answer trackers (Scrunch, Searchable and GeoToolbox), research tools (QueryBurst and Ahrefs), and tools we built: an AI query classifier, an AI visibility checker and our own AI SEO agent.

Can AI SEO, GEO and AI search visibility be fully automated?

No. Monitoring can be automated: pulling Search Console data, flagging AI-assistant queries, tracking citations and drafting briefs. Choosing what to publish, checking facts and earning mentions on sites AI engines trust still takes people who know your buyers. We automate the measurement and keep strategy, writing and approvals human-reviewed.

Which AI visibility tracker is most accurate?

None of them is a full census. Every tracker samples a set of prompts on a schedule, and AI answers vary from run to run. That’s why we compare two views and check both against your own traffic and pipeline before acting.

Do I need paid tools to start with AI SEO?

No. Search Console, GA4 and our public AI query classifier and visibility checker show a lot. Paid trackers become worth it once you’re choosing between specific prompts and competitors.

Is AlchemyLeads a good fit for my company?

AlchemyLeads works best with high-value B2B, industrial, manufacturing, aerospace, medical device and technical brands, plus high-earning Shopify brands, doing roughly $5M to $150M in annual revenue. We’re selective and only take engagements we expect to succeed. 95% of the clients we’ve signed since 2020 stayed longer than 12 months.
